As most of you know I have a compact model and am wondering where I can get a recoil spring when I need one. Does Charles Daly sell spare parts or do I go for aftermarket? If so which one? I have about 600 rounds through mine and am thinking of changing the recoil spring as I've read someplace that they should be changed around thousand rounds. This is my first, one and only 1911.

You don't need to buy factory spring, Brownell's has a lot of aftermarket springs. I use only ISMI(www.ismi-gunsprings.com) they're pricey but they last longer. I have 7K+ now on my CD and I haven't change my springs yet. Second choice would be wolff's. 'hope this help and safe shooting!

Dodge, if you find one that will directly swap in the ECS (compact daly) please let me know. I've looked many times at the 2 spring setup, and I belive the whole setup will have to be replaced.
