I am interested in the reliability of the Commander v. the Government model. I've just ordered an Ed Brown Commander length from Keith (KB), so I will be interested in the feedback.

Theoretically the shorter slide (4.25) should not be as reliable, this is what we read, and this is what most manufacturures will tell you. I've never had one so I can't say.

My Kimber 4" guns have all be very reliable. It really depends on the gun, the ammo you shoot and the magazine, but with an Ed Brown you should be just fine.

As a general rule, reliability and accuracy increase with barrel length. However, if it says Ed Brown on the frame, I wouldn't worry a bit. My Kobra Carry has never malfunctioned, and the accuracy is frightening. Good luck with it! Keith's a great guy to do business with.
