I purchased a cantilever scope mount rifled barrel for my Remington 1100 the other day. After spending 3 days in the tree stand this last weekend I had to face the fact that in low light the open sights on my 870 slug gun were useless to these old eyes.
I have mounted a Leupold VX1 1-4x20 shotgun scope on the gun and I am so far pleased with the results. Sight in will be soon.

My question for my friends here is the Remington cantilever mount. It is attached to the barrel with 2 screws. Mine was loose when I unpackaged it so I removed it applied blue locktite to the threads and reattached. Seems ok now but it has not been fired.
Has anyone had trouble with their Remington cantilever scope mounts working loose. Seems to be a cheesey set up.

Bump.
Hoping someone can set my mind at ease on the ruggedness of the Remington shotgun cantilever scope mount. The 1100, 870 and 11-87 cantilevers all attach to the barrel the same way as far as I know.
