Jamofly, have you asked over on the CMP forum? Percentage of 1911 CMP pistols/owners might be higher over there. However most people probably want to keep their 1911 intact as received from the CMP. ie, as Government Issued. Not saying it's wrong at all for swapin' parts that's the beauty of private ownership.

Not to be the "fly in the ointment" but the 1911 has a frame and a slide/slide assembly. The lego AR has the "lower" receiver and "upper" receiver. Carry on...

Thanks abcollector! I have to agree that I love my 1911A1 the way I got it, as I do my Garand. I was wondering if it would be more desirable/collectable/valuable if it was all Colt.

I feel the value of a CMP 1911 would be significantly higher if it was kept in the same condition as received from the CMP with its paperwork as a record.
