Im looking at a RR at a LGS. The serial number is 146065 . From all i can find online the serial numbers for the 1911a1 start at 916xxx. Trying to find out more information. All markings seem correct.

It's either fake SN#, complete fake frame, or the frame is a WWI Colt. Pic will help ID.

Correct. So the terminology is Colt M1911 with RR M1911A1 slide.

Just because the slide says Remington Rand doesn't mean the frame is too. Saw lots of suspiciously re-numbered frames too. Pics would help, but there are pics of lots of genuine R-R frames on this forum with complete and correct markings.

Serial number can't be right.

Small parts are not right, 1911 slide stop, post war commercial safety, cast hammer - mold parting line is visible.

I don't know what it is but it isn't good.

The frame is a fake USGI. Hammer is also cheap casting piece. Likely a cast frame judging by the fat grip dimension.

Yup. Aftermarket commercial frame, hammer and thumb safety. Bogus frame markings. In other words, steer clear of it.
