The Metal smith trick using a collet to hold the escution works to get it turning.
ususlly when you back them out the stake irons (?) out. if it does not get easy by the second turn you will probably want to stop.
you could go in with an pencil air grinder and with a carbide burr take just the stake places out.
I put them in a vise before and cushed them or use a pair of Vise-Grips, grip it north & south and then east & west, the bushing should collapse and twist it out, Pete
