Am looking for a 9mm 1911.
Saw several posts here that the springfield range officer has had some spotty accuracy. You either get a good one or it spends its time in IL.

They are discontinued, but several Loaded stainless models on the web.
Think quality of older, new guns is better?

I own both, and I thought my Loaded was pretty darn accurate until I picked up the RO.

If it were me, I would buy the Loaded. only because they are no longer making them in 9mm and you can pick up an RO in the future.

Love my 9mm RO

I have the 9mm RO and love it. More accurate than I am. I put about 100 rounds through it a week and have had no problems. My only complaint was the front sight which was hard to acquire quickly in the light at the indoor range I shoot at. I installed a Dawson fiber optic sight which was a huge improvement.

Thinking of getting either a compact or a champion RO in 45ACP next. Just don't tell my wife. Darn 1911 addiction.

RED-5 pretty much sums it all up . You can always get an RO .

You asked about quality . Springfield is making more pistols then
ever before . So you are going to get more complaints then ever before
but the quality of the new pistols , with the new CNC machines they
now have , is getting better then before . So its been said . SA is trying
to do more and more in house work to improve quality .
