I just saw a youtube video interview with RRA, during the 2014 shot show. They were talking about their polymer 1911. Towards the end they said, they still had a small number of steel frame 1911s, call your local dealer to order one. Order a steel built 1911, that is.

Like I said, never say, never. I did not know they have been building their old 1911s throughout the years, only in small numbers.

They're only building Wadcutters, Hardballers, and rail guns. None of the other models are available. :bawling:

Found this RRA Tactical today and could not resist. I never had the chance to handle an RRA 1911 before. Fantastic fit and finish. Tight as a vault, and the slide is so smooth. Trigger pull is a very crisp, consistent 3.75 lbs. Still had the original 50 Yard Test Target with 2.25" Group.

This one has a bit of holster wear on the leading edge of the slide, and on the rail, but I find it looks good. Hope to shoot it Thursday. It actually came with some nice checkered Cocobolo grips, but I decided to try some Esmeralda's I had laying around.

New RRA 1911 Carry Pistol

I recently added a RRA 1911 Carry Pistol to my 1911 collection. Waited 8 months to get it; RRA says Trijicon installing the night sights was the holdup. Anyway, the RRA authorized dealer kept me up-to-date. It was worth the wait.

I have been to the range once, and so far, I really like this handgun. Extremely well made, very tight, and shoots well. Attached pic shows 15 yard group. Shoots a little low, but with practice, I'll overcome that.

My 1911 collection now consists of:
4 Colts
5 Kimbers
2 Rugers (1 in 45acp, the other in 9mm)
1 Browning
1 Rock River Arms

I am lusting after a Colt Competition in either 9mm, or 38 super. Probably 38 Super cause that caliber is on my bucket list.
