Heard Smith is going to offer their 1911 in .40 S&W, can anyone confirm? Thanks.

Don't know, but if the breechface in their 38 Super is wide enough already for a .40 like Kimbers are then I'ld say it's just a matter of time until they do.

got zillions of 45s in a 1911 and now i wanna expand and now looking at 40 cals. that would be a sweet gun. and im gonna be in the market again in 3 months.S&W has made a good 1911 and good service. so illl be interested,

A 10mm would be nice.
A 5", steel frame, Gunsite model in 10mm would be extra nice.

I would only get the 40 so that I could stick a 10mm barrel in it, .40's belong in polymer guns like the M&P IMO.

I like 1911s in pretty much all calibers, including 40 and 9mm.

I would sure like to see S & W produce a full size 40 and a full size 9mm.
