The tanker model is black. Ceracoat over parkerize.
The Tank Commander model is grey. Ceracoat over parkerize.
I found the finish well done and evenly applied.
I removed it from the rails and flats and blued mine, but if You like ceracoat, this is well done ceracoat.

That looks good. I kinda like the stock color but it looks like you did a great job.

Never heard of this place. Thanks for sharing. I was surprised to find them in stock at all. I thought they were no longer made. PSA works better for me since I have one local I don’t have to pay any transfer fees.

I'm pretty fond of mine. I got it from Bud's, I forget what I paid for it, but it was a little over $400, I'm sure. Still a steal at that price even. Mine is a Tank Commander in 9mm. Very soft shooting gun, easy to rack the slide, and even I can shoot it fairly well. I went with the Tank Commander for the better sights. I've got a 1911A1 Service with the GI type sights. I remembered why I didn't really like those sights back in the day.

PSA has a St. Patricks day sale on the Tank Commander for $370. If you’ve been wanting one they have them in stock and I believe that’s a great price. I just ordered one and I have one local so I don’t have to pay any transfer fees. Buds has these listed at a cash price of $412.
I used to think people called PSA "Poverty State Armory" as a jab at their cheap AR-15s. Until I signed up to their emailing list for kicks and grins. Now I understand the true meaning - they have so many good deals you're liable to wind up gun-poor because they'll hook you so often. They were also running an insane deal on their Dagger pistols - full slide with a $300 Holosun pistol optic installed for $400. I don't even need a Dagger, I have an M&P that would do the same thing. But at that price I really wanted it just because the deal was almost too good to pass up! They got me earlier this year selling CZ P01 Omegas for $550.

PSA is hit or miss. A week or so ago they were selling the new Canik SFx Rival-S for MSRP + $200!
Yeah I have noticed sometimes their regular prices seem to be inflated. I try to catch stuff on sale or on clearance. Thats how I saved $200 on my RIA Ithaca 37 replica. I got a great deal on clearance. I think this is a good deal. Especially for me since I won’t have to pay transfer fees.

Guilty! Ordered a Dagger Compact (G19 clone) in Sniper Green w/ 10 15-round mags (included!) last night. $359 and all in for $389.

Do I have a G19? Yes. Does it shoot good? Yes. Is my Glock 19 in Sniper Green? No.

And there you have it. I’ve been very pleased w/ PSA products and service including their AR deals. The PSAK-47 I have is a tack driver and the trigger is amazing.

I rode down to Bud's Greenville location this morning, and brought one of those home with me. I put a C&S medium length trigger in mine as soon as I got home (I live a couple hours up the road from there). I favor longer triggers than the GI short triggers. I've never shot those short triggers very well. I've shot my buddy's Tank Commander and it's pretty sweet, I'm sure this one will be, too. They are good-looking little pistols, but my Stingray feels a bit better, really.

Well they got me for a double whammy. They put the Tanker model on clearance for the same price as the Tank Commander and I couldn’t resist. Didn’t really have the funds but did it anyway. I just really like these two models of pistols and thought I had missed my chance on them as the Tisas website no longer has either listed. Now I need the US Army model and I’ll be set for now. EDIT: The Tisas website does show the Tank Commander under their Modern Series.

My uncle, on my mom's side, was a Sherman driver in the Battle of the Bulge, and ran over a Teller mine, Killed the other crewmen, and a whole infantry squad riding on the top. He spent a year in a hospital before he came home, and I remember when I was a kid he would let us feel all the steel still imbedded in his arms. He died about a decade ago. If here were alive now, I would ask him more about his wartime experience, and what weapons they were issued. I think some M3 Grease Guns, but I don't know if any sidearms. I like the Tisa' pistols, but as yet haven't sprung for one, as I have enough 19121 variants. NV

Im in the upstate, I got my Tanker model from the Spartanburg gunshow for $320+tx OTD... I would have no problem with PSA clearance price of $369... although I do like the tank commander style, might be my next nostalgic budget pistol.
