Have a few hard back books on small arms and whatnot. Scanned a few images and text. Stuck to the 1911, and a few other .45ACPs that are interesting. Scanner is not the best and I am still learning how to use it :biglaugh:

Not a very good job of choosing models for the captions, or captions for the guns available. The "old" Commander has a drop-in beavertail, while the "modern" one appears to be of the same vintage, but doesn't have the beavertail? The "renowned Colt 1911-A1 US army pistol" pictured is in fact a Colt Series 70 Government Model. Weird nomenclature, such as referring to the frame as the "casing", as if the text is a bad translation from another language. Nice pics, though. :)

I also thought it was weird that starting at the Thompson it referred to the caliber as 0.45in M1911. Some interesting things in there, though. Thanks for the post.

I figured the "gurus" would find some flaws. The first post is all from one book. Second post is from two other books. I have found many typos and inconsistencies.
