What does Kimber mean when it says in the catalog that its aluminum frame guns are 'self lubricating'...it think that's the term they use? Quote: "Frames are machined from 7075-T7 aluminum so they are light, and the self-lubricating..." Thanks, Dennis

What I find is that they are talking about the KimPro-II finish that is "self lubricating". It is applied to the 7075-T7 frame after it has been machined.

Ref: 2007_New_Products.PDF

I still use the FP-10 anyway. :)

Pat is correct. The finish is slicker than the metal by itself. Hence self-lubricating.
