Shooting in California, 10 dead
10 people have been killed in a Lunar New Year shooting near LA : NPR
Watching "Face the Nation" this morning and they lead off the program with this story. The reporter was more interested on informing viewers, "We don't know what type of a weapon was used". Like that mattered to the victims. He then went on to say the shooter wasn't in custody and they didn't know how they had acquired the weapon. He explained they needed to know where he got the weapon so they could determine if this was a "Hate Crime".
He informed the viewers that it was "unlikely" this was a deranged individual, "because they usually commit suicide after the shooting". Thank you, Mr. Expert. Today's major media can't just report the news without adding their own opinions and agendas.

Most of the "the media" will report the race of the alleged shooter immediately if they are white. I agree that worrying about what type of weapon was used does not matter to the victims. Also, if people are murdered, worrying about calling it a hate crime is less important than arresting the criminal and seeing that justice is served.
