I'm buying my first 1911. What is the real difference between the Trophy Match and the TRP? Other than the finish they seem the same. Please enlighten me!

They are pretty much the same except for sights and finish.
If you are going to carry it get the TRP. If you are going to use it for competition/range get the Trophy match.

I've got both, and the TM is more accurate. But that could be because of the extra 1" of the TM.

An extra 1" on the TM? Both the TM and the TRP have a 5" bbl.
Both are spec'd at 8.5" in overall length and 5.7" in overall
height. Am I missing something regarding the extra inch?

I bought the TRP as it was a great deal. If I had to do it I'd either step up to a custom shop Competition gun or do the Trophy Match with a fiber optic front. I wound up spending money to convert the TRP into the gun I NEEDED, which is a USPSA/ IDPA gun -- Target style sights, oversized mag release, GI guide rod, aggressive grip.
