I was presented a trade for my custom TRP.

Guy wants to offer me his LNIB MC Operator.. not the new style, this is for the one with the non checkered front strap, Pac grips, VZ grips, 4 mags

He purchased it new on Fathers Day this year..


for my TRP with 2 WC ETM's, VZ grips and factory grips..

My TRP has been worked on by Joe Chambers with Chambers Customs..
but not everyone is interested in that...as it may affect the value when trades are involved..

I know they are basically the same pistols minus the front strap checking..

What would you all do?

Why would you trade ? Your pistol is the better of the two . The only
thing the operator has that yours does not is a rail . How much is he
paying you on top of the trade ?

No dice! The TRP has a higher price tag because of the checkering and mag well. Does the MC operator come with night sights? I can't recall. You would be losing out on this one without something thrown in on top of the MC. And adding checkering and a mag well to the MC would put you out more than the difference between the two.

If Joe Chambers did some tweaking for accuracy…..keep your TRP.

TRP has a higher value…..not an even trade….keep your TRP.

If you don't like your TRP, and want to step into a MCOP (still a good gun), it will have to come with some extra $$$ for that trade.

The following has been done to your Springfield TRP .45:

- Corrected extractor
- Finish reamed and polished chamber to .905”
- Corrected barrel throat
- Corrected guide rod
- Corrected frame ramp
- Corrected slide stop
- Corrected mag catch
- Corrected barrel crown
- MCP Disconnector Cut in slide
- Complete trigger job at 3lb 8oz
- Installed Berryhill ring hammer
- Installed KFS tritium adjustable rear sight
- Installed KFS .185” tall tritium front sight
- New Greider trigger fit and installed
- ILS system removed

Would you be open to telling me what you paid for it?

I'll trade it for only a TRP with half rail if trade ever presents itself.

As others have said....keep your TRP. Why trade it off after you've had custom work done to it.

If a rail is what you want,
Just buy the trip operator.
Play with both until you decide which one you want to keep.
Then sell the other one.
(IMO get and keep both if the funding is there).
The old MCO is no slouch but value is much less than a trp.
If you must trade, trade accordingly.
