I would like to replace the Novak rear sight that came on my Loaded with a Bomar adjustable low mount one. I would like to remove the front sight and replace with a dovetailed version (what is installed on the slide of the Competition model basically.)

Do I need some machining to do that? Are the holes on the slide the same for Novak and Bomar? I would like to install the front sight with a roll pin. Does that require machining? Is it easy enough to do myself or do I need a gunsmith guru to do that (problem is that gunsmith are scarse in my area and that would have to be shipped.)

Do you guys know a good place to get the bomar sight and dovetailed front sight on the Net? Thanks!

With regards to the rear Bomar, it takes a different cut than does the Novak, and would require machining. The front, on the other hand, may fit the same dovetail that you already have. A great place to have this done is the SA Custom Shop. They do good work and have competitive prices.
