Less moving mass means less muzzle flip and faster slide return which means faster follow up shots in competion.

It not for the faint of heart though. Remove metal from the wrong place and the slide is ruined. There are different opinions about how much metal is safe to remove and if anything other than reduced loads should every be shot in such a gun.

Send your slide to George Smith at EGW and let EDM lightening cuts in your slide. They take off something like 2 oz. and they're not in a place that weakens your slide.

If ya don't know what your doing, you could make it so light there is excessive slide velocity with regular loads, and cause some damage. Definitely not for rookies.
