I have a new full-sized Kimber (only prior 1911 experience was with compact).

I had one failure in testing it for its first 150 rounds. . . . it happened on the first or second mag, too. Slide stayed locked back, locked WAY back (i.e. further than my compact could it seems - I don't recall if you could clear the disconnector).

It appeared to be caught up on the disconnector!

Is this possible? Is this one of the things that will break in? It wouldn't repeat, and I didn't investigate too much (software engineer I am, I guess I was waiting for it to "repeat")

Love the gun otherwise. . . .

thanks,
Battler.

Yep, this is totally possible. I had this happen on one of my guns, that had a really soft POS disconnector. The middle leaf of the sear spring had worn a notch in the soft steel of the disconnector and after a while would hold it up and not let it fall. I replaced the disconnector with a quality part and haven't had the problem since.
