Hello all,

I've been shooting a recent addition to my collection in IDPA (MKIII) and was curious about finish wear. I was hoping someone else has experienced this and could shed some light.

I hold thumbs forward: Strong thumb on the safety and weak thumb on the rounded "disk" on the far end of the slide stop lever. The disk portion seems to be a good place to hold my thumb.

Anyway, while detailing yesterday, I noticed that the slide had wear marks where it was rubbing the slide stop lever during recoil. I gripped the gun and noticed that with pressure, my thumb pushes the stop against the slide a bit.

Am I holding too tight? It doesn't seem so. Someday, I want to have it refinished (HC'd maybe), so I just want to make sure it's not going to really dig in.

Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Regards, -Coop
