New 1911 owner here..SA loaded ss...anyways was wondering if any of you die hard reloaders use any type of software for reloading and if possible where to get it...thanx

I found this piece of freeware HERE.
But really just wanted a simple speadsheet that tracked my loads and expenses.

The only software I use is some cheap index cards from walmart or a note pad..

I just use a spreadsheet for each cartridge to list the load data, chronograph results, comments, ste.. No need to get elaborate.

I use the Exterior Ballistics program that was published in the American Rifleman magazine back in the 80's.

I also use a self-written program that duplicates the interior ballistics calculations done by the Powley Computer and PSI Calculator. I've added the ability to calculate free recoil as well.

Both of these require QBasic (no longer included on PC's with Windows) but still run if you keep the application around.

I found a spreadsheet on the net that was so-so, modified for my use, added a nice trajectory graph (like those graphs). As for loads, I just label my plastic boxes and adjust as necessary. Playing with MS Excel is a hobby and more in the engineering field.
