I've been doing some looking on the internet and getting nowhere. I recently got my dad's old Remington 581 as a hand me down. I used this gun for squirrel hunting when I was a teenager and I've probably shot it more than he ever did, but he's pretty sure he bought it the year I was born (1967). It's a great bolt-action .22 - it may not have the trigger of the 541 but this one's pretty well broken in so I've got no complaints. The gun's only weakness is the crappy plastic 5 and 10 rd. magazines. The one I have is cracked, and I don't really want to spend up to $20 for a new one (Remington doesn't make them anymore). But I have found reference to a single shot converter that plugs the magazine channel and leaves a nice loading trough. I would actually prefer this since there would be nothing protruding from the forearm.

But I can't find one. Anywhere.

Can anyone confirm such a thing exists - or am I searching in vain and need to just snatch up the expensive plastic mags while theyre still out there?
