Believe it or not, Springfield does not sell the single-thumb safety that goes with their 1911A1 Loaded models, even to my gunsmith. I am looking to put the identical type of thumb safety to put on my Kimber. In Brownell's, the Kings SS Extended Safety physically appears to resemble the thumb safety on my Springfield loaded. It is critical for my needs to have the thumb pad BEGIN near or very near the rear of the part, to be a bit wider than normal, yet extend out to no more than the normal length. If other words, I need the same thumb safety on my Springfield. Any help is appreciated.
Thanks in advance.

The wide style safety on a Springfield Loaded sure looks like a Chip McCormick brand? Chip makes that wide safety that is very close (if not the same) safety lever. Why not try it. BTW, the part needs to be fit by a competant pistolsmith. With the hammer cocked and safety on-the safety has to positively arrest the sear. The lobe of the thumb safety must be fit for a close tolerance fit. I've seen plenty of so-called pistolsmiths fit thumb safeties. Only to hear a click when slack is taken up on a safety engaged/cocked 1911. Signs of an unsafe pistol according to competant 1911 qualified people.

The gunsmith ended up ordering the Kings safety from Brownells at the end of last week. He will fit it to my Springfield when it arrives this week.
Thanks for your offers and advice.
