I own a Trojan in 9mm and just put money down on a Spartan. Only thing I did not like about the Spartan were the magazines and I am looking to purchase some better quality ones. Does anyone have some recommendations?

Checkmate 7 or 8 round mags with hybrid feed lips. CM45-8-S-H and CM45-7-S-H are the part numbers, IIRC.

FWIW, the OEM Novak has been working fine for me. Picked up some identical Nighthawks that work well too.

For what it's worth, Mec-Gar and Metalform makes a lot of the OEM magazines for the gun industry. They're reliable and generally pretty price conscience. I personally prefer Wilson Combat magazines.

However, I don't have a Spartan and not sure how finiky they are.

It's pretty common knowledge that the magazine that comes with the spartan is pretty cheap and crappy. If I were you, I'd shelf the original mag and buy some aftermarkets. :biglaugh:
