My Specialist #20 is finally in my hands after jumping hoops to get into CA.

Here it is shown with the single shot conversion barrel installed. (necessary for CA residents to get guns we want off the roster)

Looks good, do you have a ECO on order too?

Was going to ask about that barrel length but I guess the barrel they used in my Valor for SSE was just extra long and probably not needed.

Thanks. I do have the ECO on order:D I swear after that comes I'll be done for awhile:scratch: or after I get a naked slide Thunder Ranch Special from Baer. My bank account will never recover with this addiction! Oh well:biglaugh:

I measured it, it's 7 1/4.

haha.. Thanks neighbor! I'm available on Sunday the 10th we can get out there early to break this baby in. Grab some lunch and catch up with the other guys later sometime.....

Ryan at Table Rock Arms took care of the SSE, then shipped it to Kevin Smith in Martinez. Both guys are awesome! Can't ask for a smoother no BS style transaction.

Go ahead and get that 9mm Guardian for wifey!! :D

Wow, beautiful pistol and great photos. Now we need to see some targets with holes. I feel the pain of your addiction. I keep looking at different DW's and saying that will be the last. Congrats.

Love those grips on her. You might want to put a drop or two of loctite on the magwell screw before you head out with her. Mine shot loose and there has been one other owner to post a similar experience. At least bring a wrench along with you. You have me contemplating yet another grip purchase:hrm:

I keep 1 rail gun for the house, next to ol' trusty 870. not that it's needed, just because I guess. Railed 1911's make for a good flashlight with a x300 or similar attached:D I sold a SA MC Operator to get this one. Very pleased so far.

This guys "Specialist First Impressions" post is the reason I own this pistol today. Thank you Mr. 45 addict!

I took note of adding blue loctite to the magwell screw. I'll make sure I do that first time out.

The color of these grips over stainless guns just does it for me, and are just as addictive if you ask me. :D

range report coming soon!

Dude that Specialist looks amazing! Is the finish like a gunmetal shade stainless or is it just the lighting? Did it come with those VZ's? I'm seriously thinking about adding that to my railed 1911 lineup I already have.

Thank u sir! I really like it. The VZ's do come stock on the gun, and as far as the finish, the color shown in the pictures are pretty much accurate.

That does it. You have sealed the deal for me with the color. Now I have to try and find one with a price tag that I can agree with!

Never really been too much of a fan of railed handguns, but this is a sexy beast. If I was in the market right now for a full sized 1911 to go along with my Guardian, this would be the one. One day...

Now we need to see some targets with holes.
Sorry it took so long. I am used to the 3 dot sight picture and must admit I was having trouble getting used to looking through the sights with this gun. To be honest I contemplated switching out the sights to a 3 dot setup but, I thought I should give myself a chance to get used to them. After about 750 rounds through the short time owning this gun I am confident with it and, is now my dedicated Get The Hell Up! Outta My House!!! weapon of choice:D

I love this gun! Here is today's best.

I set the target initially @ 25 yards and took 5 shots. The result 5 shots off target to the left. I need work at 25 yards BIG time. Not fun! 10 yards is more like it:cool: Head shots are done with my Glock 26. Yes I own a Glock, okay well 3:grumble:

That is a nice looking full sized rail gun, I wonder if DW is going to offer a non bobtailed Commander version? Sorry, I couldn't find a slobber smiley.
