Looking to trade my Kimber stainless gold match series 1 for a Dan Wesson Specialist stainless. The Kimber shoots well, is tight and accurate, etc. However I just don't like adjustable sights.

My LGS has a stainless specialist for about $1,640. I would estimate My LGS will will give me about $725 for the Kimber.

Is this a worthwhile trade up? Your thoughts.

That's about what our store would give you on trade. The specialist is a much better gun in just about every way

That price is high for a stainless Specialist. That is the price one of my lgs would sell the Duty Treat Specialist.

Buds sells the SS Spcialist for just over $1400 and accepts trades. They might be worth talking to about your trade.

Get one

I agree that the price is a little high and would suggest you check with Bud's and Damascus Gun Shop. I have dealt with them both and they are good.

Regardless: get the Specialist. I have had mine for three years and it has 4,000 rounds through it. It is my duty weapon. Shoots really well.

I would sell my kimber on the secondary market for substantially more than the dealer will offer you. It might be a little more leg work, but probably not more than a few hours worth... which is the equivalent of probably paying yourself a few hundred dollars an hour for your own time.... :)

the gun itself has been a great shooter for us. That said the rear sight had to be re-fastened and that darn mag well had quite a bit of adhesive work done to get it NOT to fall off

buy it enjoy it DWs are great guns and their servic e is great too

I've taken two guns to Buds for trade in curious what they would offer. I won't take another. About half current market is what I was offered. Private sale is the way to go for the most bucks for a used firearm..
