I have a box of 230gr GD's lot 23966 E05F23 that I destroyed today... Noticed after one trip up the feed ramp, OAL measured 1.105" ... Being curious, I inspected the rest in the box, noticed OAL varied from 1.120 to 1.195". Appears to be insufficiently crimped.

Stay Safe,

Pat

Yep i noticed, if you want to shoot the GDs, get some Black Hills or Pro-Load loadings..

I don't believe Speer and Blazer (some company) crimp. That is part of the reason Wilson Combat does not suggest those brands for their guns - or so I understand. I have shot a lot of Blazer and a goodly amount of Speer 185 GDs with no significant problems. With probably 8000 rounds shot of Blazer, I had two out of round and would not feed and two where the primer did not go bang the first time. That is it. The rest have been fine.

I would have suggested saving the remaining rounds and contacting Speer about this. I have not tried Speer's factory loading but have handloaded their Gold Dot's. Perhaps still giving a contact/complaint a try anyway?
