Hi! I'd appreciate some advice regarding mainspring poundage. Several months ago, I bought my first 1911, a Gold Match II. Yesterday, I bought some reloading equipment, and was told that a good bullet to reload was a 200 grain lead semi-wadcutter.He sold me the Speer Relaoding Manual and sent me on my way. i know that I have to replace the factory spring with a lighter one, but don't know what pound spring to buy. I need advice,...please!

I have a Gold Match and shoot 200gr SWCs too. The stock spring (16lb) is just fine. You didn't say if you were new to reloading too but a good place to start is 1.250" OAL and crimp to .470-.471.

Congratulations on your new toy, I think you’re going to love it!
