i have inherited a rifle that my grandfather shot with in the navy. the markings are as follows:

U. S. Springfield Armory
Model of 1922

on the barrel behind the front site are a bomb mark, S.A. and 4-36.

the sights are made by lyman.

i know it's a training rifle. can anyone tell me when it was made and is it something special, other than to me?

condition is excellent and shoots better than i can

thanks dan
