Hi, I have a Springfield V16 i bought about a year or two after they came out. I had the Springfield Custom Shop work on the trigger (which is phenomenal) and had them put on Tritium sights. Not sure why, but I had Dawson replace the Tritium sights, probably for visibility in the day.. They are awesome on the range but I'd like the original Tritium sights put back on since it's essentially a "woods gun" for me (bears and such). Also I'd like front strap checkered like my Springfield Pro. Does the Springfield Custom Shop still do this and if not who would you recommend.

If Springfield no longer do that, quite a few places can do that. All are highly regarded custom house. You need to call and ask if they can take your gun in as some take longer time due to backlog.

P.S. Sent my Springfield V16 to the Springfield Custom shop yesterday. Springfield is putting the original tritium sights back on and having the front strap checkered. They were super nice and helpful. They still had me in their system from when I bought the V16 20 years ago. I'll post some pictures when it comes back.

Thanks! Not planning on it. When I initially got it, I sent it to the Springfield Custom shop for a trigger job and action smoothing. It's my handgun I go hiking or hunting with (woods gun). I have my Springfield Pro for in town.

Just checking in ... when do you expect to get it back from the custom shop. I'm curious to see how the checkering comes out.
They do great work . They are / were one of the best custom shops in America .
