How is Springfield (retail) associated with the old armory in Mass? I know it's a rookie question, nevertheless I have no clue as to the answer.

The only stupid question is the one not asked. Springfield Inc. has no relation to the original Springfield Armory. Most of current guns are manufactured in Brazil and assembled here. The name rights were purchased, but I don't have the date.

sorry, I am a bit sour towards them this week. I have done nothing but tout my new SA Ultra Compact V10.. now? well now it's going back to SA!

Kind of like Armalite, High Standard, or any other gun company that is not in the hands of the original owner or in the original factory anymore.
