Get one july. I just received my GI No Name last week and it is beyond compare.
Much nicer than I expected, even for the money. I did order a few small extras though.

Is it dehorned?

Didyou go Melonite, SS or other?

Mine is dehorned with the hard Melonite. Also stainless controls;
Nice combo; I like a little SS with dark finishes. Any regrets re quality, fit or finish? Shooting?

Are you happy with yours, any changes you would make?

No regrets whatever. It's an amazing pistol with unbelievable level of quality workmanship.
Haven't gotten to shoot it yet as I had to go out of state for work.

There are zero unsatisfied Guncrafter owners here. You'll be extremely happy if you buy one regardless of what options come with it.

If you've ever held one in person then you know how awesome GI 1911's are.

Anyone saying these guns aren't great has never seen one in person!

Well, that does it - next week I'll place my order for a NN Commander.

Didn't have to twist your arm much! Just messing with ya. Oh BTW I'm going to get one also. I have a couple items for sale then I will order it. I'm either getting a round butt commander or CCO in .38 supra.

Can't go wrong with a Guncrafter, it has truly become my favorite gun to shoot.

I have 2 No Name Commander Bobtails, one in 9mm and one in 45 ACP, and a CCO in 45ACP as well.

My wife liked my CCO so much, I had to order another one from George since she took mine!

I've settled on the NN Commander in Melonite, gold bead front and black "U" rear sights. My other pistols are similarly set up. How is daytime shooting with the standard night sights they come with? I'll have the butt rounded, not bobbed; it will be a somewhat "plain" model.

I sent my deposit and signed work order to John yesterday after settling on the final specs:
No Name Commander, 45 acp / Melonite
Gold bead front sight
Black notch rear
Flush cut, reverse crown barrel
Flush cut slide stop with countersunk frame
Round butt
One spare, tuned extractor.
Should be a few months, maybe less. I'm anxious to shoot it.
