If you're in the Michigan neighborhood (or can get there), you will be glad you signed up for training with Steve Tarani. He's a gentleman of the first order, knows his stuff, and will be sure that you know it, too. Soft-spoken, and doesn't push students beyond their individual physical limits.
Those of you approaching 6'4" or so like him are more likely to find yourselves being his demonstrator ("meat puppet" if you're dealing with training knives) - always an interesting experience.
Over the holidays, I'll finish up a report with more of these photos that I've started from his Universal Disarm class at Southern Exposure in October - first rate training.
My report from an Edged Weapons/Karambit hybrid class earlier this year (my first class with him) is here:
