First, looking to purchase my first 1911 auto and interest in STI. Do they use MIM parts and what are the parts? Interested in the 5” Trojan in 9mm.

Thanks in advance…

I own 2 STI Trojans,one in .40 and one in 9mm.
I have had the .40 for a couple of years.
It is an absolute pleasure to shoot.
I got a Trojan 9mm last week.
Right out of the box,it ran without a problem,
using my reloads.
A friend of mine also bought a 9mm Trojan two weeks before me
and his was also fine using Winchester factory and my reloads.
After shooting his,I just had to have one too.
Accuracy is very good
I don,t believe there are any MIM parts.
If there were,I wouldn,t really care.
I've put quite a few rounds through the .40
and it just keeps on running.

STI does use mim. Small parts like the slide stop, FP stop and safeties. There are others as well, but you get the point.

Remember that even forged and cast stuff can break. Anything can break...

All in all, good guns.
