I have a SW1911 that has ran flawlessly. It's serial number is within the recall range, and I have a FedEx sticker for it already. My question is, would the fact that it has been refinished with a spray on laquer from Brownell's omit me from the guarentee? I wouldn't see how it really would. Nothing else changed except grip screws, but I'll put the originals back on. BTW, the reason I did the refinish, was because apparently my sweat is more of a rust inhibitor than the average joe. I would have rust showing up on the small parts, after just one day of carry, so I just did a quick cover to help me out until I get all the little things (Magwell, action job, sights, maybe ambi safety) done followed by a hard chrome job. Any experience?

When I sent mine back it had an action job, slide to frame fitting, aftermarket magwell, trigger, grips and grip screws.

Got it back in 3 days.
