Is Vihta Vuori REALLY that much cleaner? I am satisfied with Winchester 231, using it for .38 special and .45 ACP. Maybe after a hundred rounds of .45 during a major match with another 100 rounds to fire I might wipe the frame's feed ramp with a paper towel. My pistols are always cleaned after every use. I use 230gr FMJ hardball, Montana Gold to be specific.
Are there folks out there who have used both? I load using a Dillon 550B, with the W231 metering well. Price wise, 6 lbs. of VV320 will get me 8 lbs. of W231.
I would appreciate any feedback. It it really better? Is it better, but not worth the price? VV320 is faster burning, but the difference is very slight.
Thanks In Advance,
Chico

I use the VV 340 for my .45 ACP loads. When loaded light (170 PF) I find it is actually dirtier than W231. When loaded hotter it is much cleaner. Don't know about how VV 320 reacts to light loads. When I use up the VV 340 I'll probably go back to W231. Just can't justify the costs.

WW-231 burns dirty? (Oh yea, I'm used to 2400).
WW-231 works great for me. No experiance with the other, but I sure as heck wouldn't buy 6 lbs of it before trying 1 lb to see if I liked it!

Been using 231 for years for light to moderate target loads in 9mm, 38, and 45ACP, and will continue to use for a few more years...
