Tanker vs Tank Commander

Which one of the guns do you like best. The are very similar but do have some differences. Even though I haven’t gotten my guns yet I think I like the Tank Commander best but this is mostly cosmetic since I haven’t even handled the guns yet. But I’m kinda torn even on the cosmetic side I like each for different reasons.I definitely like the round hammer better and the colored barrel. I don’t like the SS barrel on the Tanker. I also don’t like the flat mainspring housing. Tisas sells the arched MH but it‘s grey and the Tanker is black. Still might try one it might blend in ok. For those of you that actually have booth guns which do you prefer shooting?Just asking out of curiosity and trying to have a conversation. I’m really excited about my three new guns and can’t wait to get them in hand.

For those not familiar with the guns here’s a comparison pic. Let me knoe which one you like best even if it’s just cosmetic.

With the improved sights, rowel hammer and arched msh, it's gonna be the Tank Commander all day. Wish Tisas would offer the hammer in their store. I'd have it and the usgi grip safety installed on the Bantam pdq.
What's the 3rd gun you have coming?

It’s the US Army Model. I wish they sold a black commander sized barrel in their store
One difference I’ve noticed between the two according to the website is the Tanker has a ramped frame whereas the Tank Commander has a ramped barrel. Does one feed better than the other?
I don't have both, but considered both (on Bud's website) when I bought my Tank Commander. All it took was the more visiable (to me anyway) sights. I already had a 1911A1 Service, with the GI type sights, and knew I didn't want anymore of those. I didn't even notice any other differences, until I saw your side by side pictures. Now seeing them side by side I'm even more sure of my choice. I like the grey/green color, the flush fit mags, the wood grips, round hammer...mostly cosmetic to me, but I do like the way the TC looks and feels.

Tank Commmander all day. The Tanker bit my hand badly, and those sights are all but invisible.

Never been a fan of branding, but I actually like the way the roll mark stands out on your gun. Good job, btw

I forgot to address this earlier.

I've got two 9's and two 45's. Both nines have the feed ramp on the barrel and I have never had a probem, no matter what type bullet or magazine I've used.

The two 45's both have the ramp on the frame. No problems at all with ball ammo, however on my B45B (bobtail commander) I've had a minor problem with hollow points making the jump from the 8 round mags to the chamber when charging the chamber. It will fire a full magazine with no problem, it's just that first round to the chamber that's been a problem at all. And that seems to be clearing up, or didn't do it the last time I was at the range over the weekend. I've never tried any HP ammo in the other 45, a 1911A1 "Service."

.45. I’m not a fan of 9mm in any gun.
you know my take.........
I do like the Tank Commander, but I bought the tanker...I was looking for a decent commander size carry pistol. looked at a few RIA's but this was priced right. Now I have a inexpensive platform to upgrade and modify. and modify I have... It's a totally different pistol than I bought.. still in the tuning stage, but after almost 500 rnds I still have not had a FTF or FTE.

I felt the same way, but for some reason when the US Army 'blems' came around I decided to get one in 9mm. It is a real softy to shoot compared to it's big brother.
Ammo is a heck of a lot cheaper, too.

I have Tank Commanders in 45ACP & 9mm. When I have a choice, I prefer the arched mainspring housing, also no firing pin block/safety. I posted about my TC's here; My TISAS 1911A1TC's Have only used round nose ammo in mine; a couple thousand rounds by now. Haven't experienced any problems with either.

I bought the Tank Commander in 9mm. I like the way looks. Now that I’ve shot it, I like the arched main spring housing, and I like the way it shoots. 9mm ammo is cheaper, and 9mm in a steel handgun is great fun!

You can always send that barrel out and have it coated in ion bond. This colt came with a stainless barrel and I had evolution armory finish it in ION bond black.
