The old thread (link here) got way too massive and had been running since 2004, so it's time to start a fresh new thread. Please keep the chit-chat to a minimum and use this thread to show off your examples of Old Slabsides.

I'll start with a picture of my oldest 1911, a 1918-vintage military Colt:

Can't really tell in the pictures, are the grips textured?

I saw that after I magnified them. Almost look brutal. Have you shot with them yet?

Haven’t had the pleasure yet…Ill post a range report in the Ed Brown section when I do!
My Tisas brothers, a Tank Commander and an A1 Service Special which is an ongoing project. I am digging the old school nylon grips that just compliments the classic 1911.

Both are highly tuned up and I think I am going to refinish both in the same version of a deep but matte black. Thoughts on color choice?

Thanks.

Ordered it a few years ago through George T.
It's a 1.5" gun, 20 lpi frontstrap, non-ambi, sans fcs & clean left slide.
Fiber optic sights.
Slide rear serrations that should mate up well with the Heinie Ledge rear I'll be installing.
Long solid trigger at 3.5 lbs.

It's been flawless at the range and been carried often.
