The old thread (link here) got way too massive and had been running since 2004, so it's time to start a fresh new thread. Please keep the chit-chat to a minimum and use this thread to show off your examples of Old Slabsides.

I'll start with a picture of my oldest 1911, a 1918-vintage military Colt:

This one began life as a Springfield Mil-Spec. It's been tweaked and customized over the years. I lost track of the round count at around 15,000 and that was a decade ago...

I tried guessing but came up short...do tell..
I don't think I have seen those cuts on the bottom of a slide before. Deburring? Looks like a Brown 1 piece magwell.
What is it?
It’s a Wilson Combat ULC Compact Commander with forward angle rear cocking serrations, no rollmarks and DLC finish on the slide and small parts.

Sexy! Tell us about this one……caspian slide and turnbull frame?
Caspian slide and frame, Briley barrel & Spherical Bushing in .38 super. Damascus slide, trigger, hammer and MSH. Hogue ebony palm s
well grips.

Slide and frame acid etched. Frame flats were polished off to bare metal and chemical color case hardening treatment applied. Edges of the Slide stop, thumb safety, mag release, recoils spring plug and sights were treated as well.

Thanks. It was a couple months of experimenting on scrap slides to get it right. Still experimenting with it.
