From what I understand the front serrations were originally added for looks and for tatical cocking situations.I know alot of people don't like the front ones but I don't want to start that debate. My question is for tatical purposes, has anyone ever thought about or tried serrating the slide the whole length? It would allow use to grasp the slide at any point to cock it not just in the front or rear area.Anyways what are your thoughts?

Or maybe rear serrations that only went half way down the slide so that the thumb wouldn't get chewed up if it came in contact .

Or maybe rear serrations that were more rounded (melted).

I'd be concerned to what happens to the structural integrity of the slide. Look at how thin the steel is around the ejection port area. There are places where ther's plenty of meat, other areas might become dangerously thin

The manufactures have to have a place for their name and logo.

Apply some skateboard tape to your slide and let us know if you find any good purpose for the "all gripping surface".
