The only DW that I own at present is a pre CZ Pointman target Match .45
This gun is superb and rivals my Wilson CQB in reliability and accuracy. I would like a 10mm bobtail for a carry gun but am not sure about the new CZ guns. Wonder if they are as good as the old DW ?

Gee whiz. The local shops (~1 hr drive) that do have them quote at $1,000 and up. Accordingly, I saved $250-$300 and bought mine used from one of the internet auctions.

You can save a few bux buying a used one on the Internet, Or you could buy someone else's lemon thats been back to the factory 3X and still malfunctions. Its a crap game. Been there done that

Yeah, but that's true from the factory also. There is no 100% guarantee that from the factory will be perfect.

I like used guns and used trucks for the same reason. I beat the crud out of them using them for what they are for. I hate beating up new stuff.

I've been 11-0 so far on the used guns so far. I'm sure my ticket will be up on the luck one day.

I don't know if it is just my area, but at my local shop the CBOBs just went up from $859 to $899.
I've been watching them at Bud's for about six months. Wanting to get in on some of that no payments, no interest for one year stuff. And the 10mm Bobtail seemed like the new gun I wanted the most. Various things keep happening and I still haven't ordered one. I've watched the price start at less than $850. Then the gun was made special order only. Then they put it back as an in stock item. Then the price went up to around $875. Now it is up to $916!

It is like watching the prices at a gas station! I need to just go ahead and buy the darn thing before it goes up again!

10 Mm Cbob

I watched Bud's and Point Blank for some time. I even bought one, I thought, from Point Blank when they said they had them in stock, but didn't when I place my order. I bought one from our very own, Dave Severns, after being on his personal wait list. The price was better than the aforementioned "big dealers" and the transaction was flawless. After some minor tweaking, it has become a most reliable firearm and the one I like best of my many 1911 style pistols. I look forward to getting a 45 CBOB in addition the 10MM I now have.

i'm in the process of ordering one from dave just because he seems like a stand up sort of guy.buds has them listed at 864 delivered, about 60 dollars cheaper than dave but i'm going to have dave give it a reliability package so there will be no "issues"when i get it.hopefully this gun will be one i keep forever.dave says that cz has raised the prices 30.00$ so better get them before the price go's up

I'm sure Dave has some good deals. But I won't have my first chunk of gun money until tax refunds come out. So let's say mid to late March. That still won't be enough. We just bred a bitch so 7 weeks more until she whelps. Then we keep the pups until they are eight weeks old. Then I get a piece of the money for guns. Let's say mid-May.

So I could start saving my money, get on Dave's list, etc, and have my gun in late May or so. Or I could order it from Bud's right now and have it in a week. Then, as that money comes in down the road, pay it all off. With six months or so to spare.

Sometimes it is worth 5% more money for immediate gratification! Well, if not immediate at least a heck of a lot sooner! I'm pretty sure Dave won't carry my credit for a year without any payments or interest!

Where to Buy

Hello IceCold,

I have purchased four Dan Wessons from Dave Severns in the last year and a half. I can offer that you will be in good hands buying a gun from him.

Rest Easy,

I put a direct link to the 10mm Bob in my post above. If you click on it, you can see they are listed at $916 now. Like gold, they just keep going up!

Rest assured that Dave isn't making enough money on a gun sale to warrant not telling the truth. Frankly, I'd rather not sell you a gun than have to lie to someone...

Anyhow guys, I try very hard to not use this forum to generate business. Plenty of good, honest dealers out there who will take good care of you. Appreciate the compliments, but would prefer that we keep the bandwidth here dedicated to Dan Weson pistol discussion. Both I and our website owner would like it better that way. :)

FWIW, DW's have indeed just gone up in price. I think the word about their value is spreading.
