I read something the other day about a problem that pops up sometime where the thumb safety on a 1911 travels past the ball detent before coming to rest on the frame.

My question, just for the sake of knowledge, is what are the options to remedy this situation?

Thanks!

Huh? :)

First I've heard of this problem.

The M1911 frame safety travel is limited by the hole in the frame and the stud on the lever.

Yes, some thumb safeties will travel past the plunger pin and detent.
If you wish to call me at the shop I'll tell you what your options are to fix this.
