Hello every one . I am new to the forum and Ill make some grammar mistakes sometimes ( English not my first language . I don't write to often but I will try my best =)
I have a couple 1911s and never had any issues with it I'm totally in love with this gun and I think is one of the best guns what Mr. Browning made . I bought a brand new 1911 tisas duty (I don't like tisas , but if some one offer u a brand new 1911 for 300$ u have to be stupid for not buying it even if its tisas 😁) So issue is it doesn't take hp rounds . I think to use a jewelry grinder tool and and try to round up a feeding edge inside the frame .but I'm not sure if its good idea.
I dont have the same issues with my another 1911s.
thanks for your help .

I've had zero issues with HP's in my ss45 Carry, but yes: you might polish the ramp a little. Others here have posted on the process.
Welcome from Ohio.
Have you tried other magazines?
I had a RIA compact years ago that wouldn’t feed HP’s no matter what I did. It was fine with ball ammo but I eventually parted ways with it .
I have a SDS GI and I like it ,sure it’s not up to par with my higher end pistol but they really are a good value

yes , I have tried another clips from dif. manufactures . It doesn't help in all same issue
Force some copper plated HP's through it. Should leave a small copper spot on the the feed ramp where it is catching. Smooth only that spot over and leave the rest of the ramp alone.

Does it feed FMJ? Some of the HP ammo is not the best diet for any 1911

Welcome to the forum. It appears you are getting some responses to your question. I hope they help, good luck.

Grumpy
I had to polish the feed ramp and barrel ramp as well as the inside top of the barrel hood - on both my B45 "Carry" model and on my "Bantam" lightweight commander. It did help.

What helped the MOST was installing a new EGW oversized small radius firing pin stop and going to a full size 5" 16lb recoil spring that was cut down to 24.5 coils (or you could just use a commander length 16lb spring). That lets the slide stay closed longer and increases slightly the cycle time so that the magazine can do it's job. May I ask what type of JHP failures? Stuck on feed ramp? Partly into chamber? Stovepipe?

Below is a picture of a feed ramp. Note that the ramp is cut at exactly 31.5 degrees and is perfectly flat along its entire length. Also note that the distance from the top of the frame rails to the bottom of the ramp is .400". Also note that the top edge of the ramp where it meets the barrel bed is not rounded at all. This is an ideally dimensioned ramp and will feed any decently manufactured ammo.

Polishing the feed ramp with a jewelry grinder tool (Dremel) is dangerous unless you have lots of experience using one. It's too easy to create a low spot in the ramp or round off the top of the ramp. You'd be better off putting some polishing compound on a Q-tip of soft cloth and rubbing it along the ramp using your finger.

If your ramp doesn't look like the one in the picture, take it to a 'smith to cut the ramp to these specs. Make sure the 'smith knows 1911s inside and out.

The most important dimension in the drawing below is the minimum barrel bed length. Under no circumstances can the barrel bed be less than .246". This means that the 'smith cannot simply cut the ramp without first determining what effect cutting the ramp will have on the barrel bed length.

You seem to be apologizing for buying a Tisas, but I once had a new Colt M1991 that would not feed hollow points either and it required some minor polishing work.

I have new commander sized Tisas that has had 900 rounds through it so far, a couple hundred rounds of them HPs, without a single hiccup. I'm no 1911 expert, but I would not be surprised if the current Tisas 1911's coming off the line are as good some that come off the Colt line in years past.

Hope you are able to get your feed issue rectified.

1911s we’re not designed for anything other than FMJ. Check the feed lip design, GI, hybrid, wadcutter. Hybrid would be best for HPs. Welcome from Alabama!

Actually, hybrid feed lips provide exceptionally smooth feeding compared to wadcutter (parallel) feed lips. In an extensive 5,000 round test I conducted a couple of years ago hybrid feed lip mags fed across the widest combination of pistols and ammo. They fed when wadcutter mags (Tripp, Wilson, CMC, etc) would not. That's not to say wadcutter mags don't work because they do but it does call into question the common narrative that wadcutter mags are best for hollowpoints.

Thank you. Exactly my point. I was suggesting the OP identify his mag type before proceeding with any frame modification.

This picture may help the OP identify his mag type.

Hybrid feed lips allow the cartridge to rise as it is pushed forward like the GI feed lips and then release the cartridge suddenly like the wadcutter feed lips.

Left: GI (tapered feed lips)
Middle: Wadcutter (parallel feed lips)
Right: Hybrid feed lips
