I've decided to take out a second mortgage and purchase a new 1911...haha...maybe not that expensive. Actually, I need to keep it around $1200. I've narrowed my choices to Valtro or RRA. I have an RRA DCM AR and absolutely love it so I do have some experience with them. Any thoughts? Thanks for your input.

Having had a choice of any number of new 1911s this year, I chose a Valtro. From what has been shown at the SHOT Show, it looked good. Lots of good reports of them being excellent.

John Jardine is a good guy, and that is another reason to give the Valtro a shot. He will add a mag well and blend it for a nominal fee too.
