Typical 70's vintage Colt work. Probably made at 3pm on a Friday. I resculpted the guard and thinned it out to the proper proportions for this project. A long list of fixes on the one which will be part of a two gun set.

Plenty if blending and smoothing left to do.

Neat work, but it amazes me that you have to pay to have that fixed.
My 1918 Army Surplus Colt has a better trigger guard than that started out with.

I think I'd take the margin down thinner. The factory filing on the right side has a dip in it toward the aft end. I'd just take that shape and carry it all around with a bit more crown, leaving the middle thick for strength. It would provide the illusion of a finer guard with the strength it should have.
