Suarez International USA has opened a training academy and adventure vacation company in Costa Rica. We feature our true "modern combative technique" courses for weapons, tactics, and combatives offered now in Costa Rica, as well as adventure programs in one of the most beautiful countries on earth. Our Courses will be held both in English and in Spanish. No need to train in the desert, come to beautiful tropical Costa Rica.

January 2004

To prevail in a confrontation, accurate shooting is only the beginning. This exciting course is the next step after Defensive Pistol Marksmanship, and covers five days worth of information in two days of intense and focused training efforts. After a brief review of the fundamentals, and time spent on skill and attribute development, we jump into speed and accuracy enhancement drills, reflexive gun handling and shooting at various intervals, and various other important skills. There will also be a discussion of the fighting mindset.

You'll need: Pistol and Magazines, Belt-Holster-Magazine Pouch, Flashlight (Surefire-Type), Safety Gear, and 500 Rounds of Pistol Ammunition. (You don't need a Glock or a Custom 1911 to attend this class! Shoot what you carry. Any caliber or action type will do fine here)

This is as far as you can safely go on a square range with live-fire pistols. This dynamic course goes beyond the traditonal handgun methods commonly taught in most institutions and focuses of the use of the pistol in aggressive close range engagement (CRE) applications.

This is pure in-your-face gunfighting. The course begins with a tune-up of the fundamentals and a skill drill, then we progress quickly to new skills such as Proactive and Reactive Shooting While Moving, Reality-Based Multiple Hostiles Engagement, Weapon Retention and Control methods, 360 degree CQB Coverage and Compass Drills, Danger-Close Fighting, Reality-Based After Action Assessment Methods, and Reduced Light Combatives. This is the life-saving material that is often ignored in many other programs. In two days, you will receive more information than most armed professionals ever get! Suitable for BOTH civilian defenders and professional operators.

You'll need: Pistol and two Magazines, Suitable Belt-Holster-Magazine Pouch, Surefire-type Flashlight, Safety Gear, and 600 Rounds of Pistol Ammunition (minimum). (You don't need a Glock or a Custom 1911 to attend this class! Shoot what you carry. Any caliber or action type will do fine here).

Bringing your gun

We can arrange a temporary gun import permit under Costa Rican law, if we receive all the documentation needed, with enough time to get all the paperwork done (before November 31st 2003), there is an additional $100 to process the paperwork - non refundable.

To Import your Pistol Please send us:

1. photocopy of your passport (the main pages)
2. photocopy of your CCW Permit, Purchase Receipt, or other document to state rightful ownership of the gun.
3. Copy of membership of a shooting club, sporting association (NRA will do) or police association will be also useful.
4. and any other additional documentation Costa Rican authorities request.

If you will be bringing your pistol to C.R., we must pick you up at the airport and provide your transport to your hotel. This will not add any extra cost.

Please understand that a Temporary Weapon Import Permit is not a Concealed Carry Permit, so you cannot carry your gun outside the shooting range. CCW can be obtained in CR but only for CR residents/citizens. This is no different than a CR citizen travelling to the USA with their weapons.

You can reserve thru our office in Arizona or by contacting Mr. Juan Sepulveda in Costa Rica. We hope you'll be training with us in January.
