Is there such a thing as an "ideal" spot where your trigger finger should meet the trigger? I have a 1911 with a long which I have to "reach for". I have another with what I assume is a Colt Standard length, that feels 'right'.
How do you measure what you have to see what you need, from the bottom of the finger radius to the end of the bow?

This is all based on my assumption that the ideal position of your finger is approx. 90 degrees when the trigger is fully depressed.

Trying to make sure I buy the right trigger the 1st time...

I have short fat fingers and so I got a short trigger on my 1911. When I had the stock one in there I tended to push slighty to the left because I hit the trigger near the tip on my finger. After I switched to a shorter trigger the fattest part of my front digit is extended slightly and goes to 90 degree at the release of the shot. It helped me.
