I would like to put a different trigger in my 70 series a longer one so the trigger is at the tip of my finger anyone reccommend one? Can you do it yourself or do you need a gun smith? how much would it run for installation?

take it to your pistolsmith. he'll be able to provide examples (if you haven't one in mind)probably installed in other 1911's.
avoid 'drop-in' sets, they must be made with a great deal of 'wallow' to fit many different frame/styles. you won't be satisified. get it done right the first time.
coyote.
p.s. don't fret over plastic vs. other materials, if it feels right to YOU, that's ALL that matters!

Aluminum, long, i.e. Videcki, triggers are relatively easy to install, provided you are totally familiar with disassembly/reassembly (complete firearm) of 1911. If not familiar don't do it yourself. Saftey is the issue here.
Trigger cost: 16 - 20
Installation by smith: 25 - 35
