All,

for all those with Tri night sights, how long do they last? (as far as glowing in the dark)

I bought some $7 glow-in-dark paint set and the "glow" looks good for about 30min after 30sec in front of a light. It still is visible after a couple hours, but really dull/dim and not what I would consider targeting quality.

Anyone?

[if nothing else, I managed to repaint my sights on my Mil Spec, which needed a cleaning anyhow]

I have a set of ten year old Trijicons on a Sig P220, and they are still about as bright as the new Meprolites on my Kimber TLE/RL II. They do last a long time.

Night sights glow because they contain a radioactive gas, tritium, which has a half-life of about 12 years. They do not need prior exposure to light to glow.
