I need some help. I took the torx screws out of the grips to clean the magazine well of my SA TRP Operator. For some reason the grip screw escutcheon came out with the screw. When I tried to put the grip back onto the pistol, the threads were damaged on the pistol handle where the escutcheon attaches to the frame. It's not bad, but it's just enough that I am unable to put the escutcheon back onto the pistol so that I can screw the grip back on. My brother who was a machinist mate in the navy told me just to get a TAP and fix the damaged threads, since it is not too bad. He made it sound simple, but I do not know what size TAP I need to correct the problem... This seemed reasonable since sending it to SA would take 4-8 weeks for a simple repair.

What size TAP do I need?

Thanks,

Joe
