That's the way the guns are shipped from Les Baer. They are in a baggie dripping with Break Free (I think that's what it is). It's OK by me, they skimp on the packaging to put more into the gun. :rock:
TRS at the store
Looked at one recently. It was oozing with oil. Does LB ship them with lots and lots of lube or did the store do that?

They are shipped in a genuine brown cardboard box, gracefully lined with a plastic bag to protect the lovely beige of the cardboard. The also have an 8.5 by 11 sheet of paper briefly describing how to take a 1911 apart, written by someone who has been doing it for years, written FOR someone who already knows how. The accompanying trigger lock has NEVER left the collector's item box.
Gun itself ain't bad though.

1961MJS forgot to mention the luxorious butcher paper surrounding the pistol & mags:biglaugh:. Seriously though, I'm more than happy to have my money go into the pistol, not the packaging. Oh yeah, my TRS was also dripping in Break Free. Just wiped it down, ran a patch through the bore & went shootin'.

(This was last week) I wiped it off, ran a patch through the bore and shot it. I have exactly 100 rounds through it. As soon as I returned home I got on the phone and ordered another one. I figure anything this nice you need two of them. TedZ

Mine came the same way. It had so much oil on it that the guy at the gun shop handed me a roll of paper towels with the pistol.

Absolutely dripping, oozing, spilling oil...grabbed an old terrycloth towel, wiped it down enough that I could hold it, started feeding it ammo, and never looked back. But the cardboard box, that occupies a special place of pride in the garage, never going to let that go. The other posters forgot to mention the rolling thunder Les Baer shoulder patch that is included amongst the papers in the box, don't know what I am going to do with that. Maybe sell it on Ebay?:biglaugh:

Yeah, I think they call it a manual. But only the bottom half has any useful information, so you can fold it over for more convenient reference.:biglaugh:

Ok this is screaming for a pic of all the "stuff" that came w/the pistol. If I had a camera (keep buying guns, dangit) I'd start.
Mine had so much breakfree in the bag I didn't have to buy any for two months 
I have one of the early ones. No patch no lock. Brown cardboard box with a small bar code label on the end that says Thunder Ranch Special serial number and then a couple of others. One take down sheet and one that gives a run down of who built it and a price list for 2001. Just check the bag and the breakfree is still there. Thickened a bit and brownish, but still there.
